What does a Junior Data Engineer at Coolblue do? 

Together with the team you love to take part in designing and building Data processing clusters using Kafka, Airflow, Dataproc and Dataflow as much as you love fine-tuning it and creating data products by combining data. More than that, you are super enthusiastic about what you do and always look for new opportunities to improve our Customer Journey by analyzing a gazillion bytes of Data. In time, you’ll be so much on top of it, you’ll be coaching your colleagues about those topics, presenting inspiring demos and be the go-to-person when it comes to such technologies. You recognize yourself in the following

  • You have a technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • You have at least 1 year of relevant work experience (for example during an internship or a (side) job).
  • You are familiar with a programming language (knowledge of Python is a plus) and the disciplines of Business Intelligence.
  • You are familiar with databases, ETL and data processing frameworks such as Streaming, Airflow, Dataflow, Spark & ​​Dataproc.
  • We get an extra big smile if you are familiar with Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Integration or Big Data on Google Cloud Platform.
  • You would like to learn to work in an Agile environment.
  • You are willing to learn new technologies.
  • You are already living in the Netherlands.

  • How does Coolblue adhere to the 1.5-meter rule at work?

    We adhere to the recommendations and guidelines of RIVM and the government, of course. This means that all colleagues from the main office work from home as much as possible. The interviews for your application will also take place via video calls.

    We’d be happy to have you at the office on your first day. So we can drink a cup of coffee and get to know each other a little better. At an appropriate distance, of course.

  • Can I keep developing myself?

    Coolblue University: learning at Coolblue, in a different way.

    With over 30 training courses in our own Coolblue University, you can get a little bit better every day. At Coolblue, we go back to school sometimes. But not by sitting there quietly and just listening. The training courses aren't boring, but interactive. You have to do exercises and have discussions with others. At the Coolblue University, we choose what we want to learn, so we can continue to develop en become real experts. For example, a Delivery Driver needs different training courses than a Customer Service Employe and a starter needs different courses than a manager.
