Security Engineer

As a Security Engineer, you’re responsible for making - and keeping - Coolblue secure.

    Pros and cons

    • You’re the link between Security and our own Tech department, but also between Security and external suppliers of SaaS solutions.
    • You keep Coolblue secure by handling security incidents and overseeing the implementation of structural improvements.
    • You determine the security requirements that new systems must meet and oversee their implementation.
    • You convey your knowledge and security awareness to technicians, both inside and outside of Coolblue.
    • You have to play table tennis with your colleagues.

You start your day while having coffee with Anthonie, Security Manager at Coolblue. Next, you assess a scan of a new software pack that we may want to start using. Since last discussing the software in a previous meeting, you see some improvements, but the CSRF vulnerability is still an issue. You contact the supplier about this. Time for lunch!

After lunch, you have a meeting with Sjors, Manager Hosting & Deployment. You discuss the implementation of security measures to protect AWS instances even better. This way, you make Coolblue a little securer every day. You finish the day with an exhilarating game of table tennis!

    Your specifications

    • You have a technical college degree or a university degree.

    • You have at least 5 years of experience in Application security.

    • You have programming experience.

    • You have knowledge of Security by Design and of Software Lifecycle Management.

    • You have relevant working experience as a security advisor.

    • You like sharing your knowledge with your colleagues.

    • You’re always in the know about the latest vulnerabilities and how we can protect ourselves against them.

    Included by default

    • Money.

    • With over 30 training courses in our own Coolblue University, you can become a little better every day.

    • A discount on all our products.

    • Extraordinarily good work environment, including freshly made snacks, monthly drinks, legendary Coolblue parties, awesome team activities, and an informal, playful department.

    • 25 leave days. As long as you promise to come back.

    • Travel allowance and a retirement plan.

    • A picture-perfect office at a great location. You could crawl to work from Rotterdam Central Station. Though we recommend just walking for 2 minutes.

    • Room for new initiatives and ideas. We’re always open to those. Doesn’t matter if you’ve worked with us for a week, a month, or a year.

    • Challenging work which makes you forget you’re working at all.

    • A horizontal organisation in the broadest sense. You could just go and have a beer with the boss.
