Medior UX Designer

As a driven UXer at Coolblue, you put your design magic to use to turn every visitor into a happy customer.

What you tell people at parties

"I never outgrew the ‘why?’-phase of my childhood.”

    What you really do

    • You come up with new functionalities and bring those to life so they can be tested.

    • You improve the usability of our webshops, which caters to more than 150.000 visitors a day.

    • You design creative and ingenious things without losing sight of the visual identity of Coolblue.

    • You make the Coolblue website a little bit better every day, as well as your own colleagues.

    How you do it

    • You work together with Developers to build a great product.

    • You define your own priorities with your development team and Product Owner. You receive direct feedback from end-users and are given free rein to experiment.

    • You decide on your own tools. Balsamiq, Axure, Photoshop, Sketch. It doesn’t matter, as long as your designs are well thought out and polished.

    • To measure is to know. You’re directed by big data and experience, not just a gut-feeling.

    • You’re able to find the correct balance between the big picture and making small steps with an Agile mindset.

You work in a multidisciplinary team of 3 to 5 developers, each with their own specialization ranging from PHP to JavaScript. The team is accompanied with a Scrum Master and a Product Owner.

    A day at the office

You sit down behind your MacBook and have a quick look at Google Analytics to see the first results of the checkout, after it went live yesterday. People seem to be able to find their way through the process much easier now, awesome! After the daily stand-up, you walk to the demo lab and put on your trusty UX lab coat. The usability research, set up by the Customer Journey Specialist, is about to kick off. There’s still a usability bug in the checkout which needs to be looked at. You decide to go to a brainstorming session, organized by your fellow UX Designers to come up with great solutions. Before the end of the day, you walk over to a UX design colleague to give him some feedback on the work he did for displaying bundles on our product page.
