Lead Interaction and Visual Designer

As a Lead Interaction Designer you work with designers from different teams to create a high-quality website. You help set the standards and guidelines for design at Coolblue.

    Arriving at the office, you start your day with finalizing a new design system proposal you've been working on with your team. At 10:00, you have your first demo of the week. The Mobile App domain is showcasing the progress they've achieved during their latest sprint. You're already up-to-date since you're in close contact with the UX designer and Product Owner, but the demo gives some insights into how other Coolblueans are seeing the progress.

    Afterwards, you're off to one of the domains you are responsible for. The Interaction Designer of the Landing Pages domain is working on designs for the product page and wants to discuss the details with you. You realize that the new design affects the project that Payments and Ordering domain is working on. So you drop by the domain to update them.

    After lunch, it’s off to a workshop about the new component system you organized for the back-office domain that is working on the restocking application. After some discussion you all agree on the new direction. Later in the afternoon you find some time to work on the component library in Sketch and join the UX Research for a few sessions.

    Your specifications

    • Minimum of 6 years experience as an Interaction or UX/UI Designer.
    • You have led design projects and worked with stakeholders on challenging design decisions.
    • You’re experienced in mentoring junior and medior UX designers.
    • You have your own opinions, and you're not afraid to voice them. At the same time you are open to the opinion of others.
    • You can use your theoretical knowledge if you have to explain your choices in design.
    • You have experience with using data and UX Research to support your design decisions.
    • You understand the process of designing great products.
    • Experience in managing expectations of stakeholders and engage them in the design and development process.
    • Fluent English both written and verbally. Dutch is a bonus.
